A cinquant’anni anni dal 1968 si celebra anche un’altra importante ricorrenza: la morte di Martin Luther King. Inserita all’interno del progetto History&Photography, che ha per obiettivo raccontare la storia valorizzando gli archivi fotografici, l’esposizione si focalizza sul racconto della condizione dei neri in America tra la fine della guerra civile e gli anni Sessanta del Novecento, fino alla morte del loro leader più rappresentativo. Duecento immagini esposte e proiettate, alcune a opera di grandi fotoreporter statunitensi, raccontano un momento di lotta e cambiamento.

I have a dream. The fight for the civil rights of Afro-Americans. From racial segregation to Martin Luther King 50 years since 1968, another important anniversary is celebrated: the death of Martin Luther King. Inserted within the project History & Photography, which aims to recount history by putting the spotlight on photographic archives, the exhibition focuses on the condition of blacks in America between the end of the civil war and the sixties, up until the death of their most representative leader. Two hundred images, both exhibited and projected, some by great American photojournalists, tell of moments of struggle and change.
