In 2021 Elisa Mariotti undertook a long, intense, and currently ongoing project exploring the spaces and the lives inside the Community of San Patrignano. “During the first year, letters are the only connection with the outside” says Mariotti, “not receiving any increases insecurity, but some letters can be a painful experience”. The photographer captures the people, the visitors, their fears, their limits, their fragilities, and specific places. Completely devoid of rhetoric, this photo-reportage takes us to the heart of pain, hope, and the most genuine and troubled human connections.
