Starting from an important awareness, and stimulated by the reading of the text Time and Water by the Icelandic writer Magnason, Carpi constructs a photographic journey divided into three moments to bring the common observer closer to the concept of “melting ice”: as long as this concept remains an abstract fact, it has little hold on the general public. But what happens if the concept becomes a known image and which is then transfigured by the presence of water? The result is postcard landscapes immersed in pools of water, ice embedded in desert landscapes, roads and streets flooded by one or two meters of water.
