Granny is a moving photographic project about a transgenerational connection: an exploration of intimacy carried out by a grand-daughter harnessing an analogical camera anchored to family and tradition. In Alessia Spina’s photographs, grandma Elvira becomes all grandmas. Gazes, laughter, gestures, flavours, attentions, habits made up of small rituals, emotions which a lifetime of photographs could not cover.
