A great interpreter of the jazz music of the 1960s, which he photographed at a very young age on behalf of his father – the great critic and organiser Arrigo -, Roberto Polillo proposes here a new, evocative exhibition of portraits of the great drummers who left an unforgettable mark on the history of this music. Max Roach, Elvin Jones, Art Blakey are the best-known names in this roundup of personalities whose performances (but also sometimes their downtimes) the photographer captures in a particularly expressive black and white where analogue photographs and digital prints alternate, in a challenge to those who can distinguish between them.
