Dealing with Dante Alighieri’s Inferno is a challenge for the young photographers of the Istituto Italiano di Fotografia, who have been confronted with a universe of characters with an intense carnality, exhibiting powerful feelings, invectives, glances, narratives and suffering. They have all moved with remarkable creativity, pursuing personalities, recreating situations, using symbols, tracing atmospheres, using different expressive tools to immerse themselves in a painful journey marked by the gradual removal of light. Because, given that light also philologically underlies photography, for someone who practices it, Hell means the impossibility of doing so.
