A dark background similar to the sky before a storm looms over the three Milanese buildings. The Romanesque tower, which has survived fires and demolitions, is the historical witness to the evaporated but still certain and combative past that modernity has devoured. Milena Barberis underlines the contradiction between architecture and background through a sort of cybernetic metaphysics. The two buildings from the Sixties merge into a single body with the bell tower wrapped in ivy, a sign of the resistance of the plant world. The tower is a survivor, a faint trace of the spiritual and natural world incorporated in the material world of consumption. A hope for the awakening of the human, being narcotized by himself.
