Belonging: noun that indicates feeling part of a place, of a group. It has a social and cultural value. But then there is also a personal emotional dictionary, in which belonging is a less definable concept. For Irene Guastella, belonging is linked to the domestic and family dimensions of her grandfather’s house. Investigating it means looking behind and looking inside, probing and accepting something that is not in the open. To do this, you need “occhio vivu”, the attentive, watchful eye of someone who is looking for a connection and finds it through the medium of photography. The project is part of the exhibition Plural Visions – three young photographers and their emotions.
