Zoppellari based this first photographic project of hers on an on-the-road trip with a Malagasy guide to the less touristy areas of the big red island. Encountering glances, spontaneous gestures, and everyday moments, the photographer walks, observes, waits, is moved, and takes her photos. And indeed, the images that make up this reportage are a collection of emotions documenting the living conditions in Madagascar, the first country to face a famine linked to global warming and now experiencing its worst drought of the last 40 years.
