Claudio Comito likes to wander the streets of his Milan at night because silence, solitude and darkness are the necessary conditions for his research. A subway, a tram stop, the light of a streetlamp gliding over two trees, the entrance to a large building that we will discover to be uninhabited, the structures of a construction site, a doorway, all emerge from the darkness and are rendered to us in prints of prodigious refinement accompanied by the author’s own stories, just as suspended as the images from which they come to life. A master in the use of light and prodigious in his attention to detail, Claudio Comito sends a shiver down our spine when he lingers on a playground that seems to float in the void.
