Born as a project dedicated to women’s hands in the act of creating handcrafted products, Ric-amati has become a project that enhances the female figure in her purest act of emancipation: the ability to make and create. The craftsmanship of Pilotti’s photographs is that of embroidery, sewing and weaving. They are stories of women portrayed in the streets, in public gardens, in the intimacy of their homes, up to and including the hands of women from other parts of the world. A story that is told precisely thanks to that interweaving of warp and weft that makes up every fabric.
