Two names spring to mind when thinking of photography and Paris, one of them Robert Doisneau, who captured the Parisian soul to make it immortal. This anthological exhibition showcases over fifty years in the career of Doisneau, considered – along with Cartier-Bresson, one of the fathers of French Humanist photography and of street photography. The images on display all centre on the French capital or, rather, on its inhabitants. Divided into sections devoted to recognisable motifs, they tell of the war and liberation, of work, love and children’s games, of free time, music and fashion.
