Inspired by Cubism in its analytical phase, and by the dynamic forms of Futurism, Gaumé looks at the city around him, dwelling on what he calls Automorphoses: flashes of the surrounding space that are reflected- and changed- by mirroring surfaces, such as those of cars. The signs of the city are thus deconstructed and recomposed within a mirror-object, becoming the representation of a real transformation.
