ALA Milano Onlus’ project, in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Photography, is a gallery of portraits that tell stories of integration and beauty for a world without walls and borders. Among images, memories, and autobiographical fragments from the subjects photographed in diptychs, we hear and see stories of girls and boys born or arrived in Italy, united by their cultural wealth. Indeed, many of them have a double identity characterized by ethnicity, language and culture. The result is stories of people who inhabit multiple worlds and, therefore, possess multiple opportunities for understanding.
