It is fundamental for Colonnese to give a voice to those who have none. This reportage gives voice to the Patriarchs, also known as the Wise Ones, as the centuriesold olive trees, now at risk of extinction, are called in Apulia. A project that began in 2013, when abnormal desiccation due to an unknown bacterium was observed. What only seems to be a concern for the world of biology and natural sciences actually affects everyone: the territories and family businesses that have invested a lifetime’s sacrifices in olive groves and the production of extra virgin olive oil. A dramatic reportage that draws attention to an environmental disaster which is very close to us.
