Elena Fava Emerson favours portraits and landscapes in her poetics. When she devotes herself to landscapes, she always seeks an emotional connection, a deeply intimate and meaningful bond. In the series of photographs exhibited, the photographer chooses to portray melting glaciers, animating the landscapes with an almost mystical afflatus, which, together with their lunar and imaginative valence, bring attention to surfaces that are melting, thus charging them with an important and powerful ethical and aesthetic impact.
