Photography and music have always had a harmonious dialectical relationship, and this is even truer when jazz music offers itself as a field of investigation. With this research, carried out in various situations but with a particular predilection for the prestigious Milanese stage of the Blue Note, Deborah Raimo investigates the more emotional aspects of music, skilfully moving from black and white to colour – because some situations require precisely this choice – and from close-ups that enhance the passion of a singer to overall views that capture the relationship between the musician and his instrument. And it is precisely in this variation of tones that the photographer finds the emotions of the music she interprets.
