If it is true that there is no light without shadow, it is equally true that there is no single point of view. The historical moment that acts as a backdrop to our life alternates wonder and hope with despair and surrender, in a play of light and dark that manifests itself in Agostoni’s choice of blackand- white. From that backdrop of wonder, the photographer thus creates a city reportage dedicated to Milan in which one really does have the impression of having casuallyparted a small curtain, just in time to catch a fleeting movement, a special pose, a subject in a moment of becoming.
