According to Gilles Clément, the Third Landscape is the one abandoned by man: derelict industrial areas, places where human activity is absent, uninhabited spaces. Starting from a reading of Clément’s text, a group of photographers has created compositions of several images that are posed as photographic aesthetic expressions of the Third Landscape: each of them is looking for a context in which to reflect and recognize themselves in order to give it formal representation. The Third Landscape is, by its very nature, an undefined and indefinable context within which the photographers operate: to give a boundary to the indefinable.
