Mauro Mariani parte dalla famosa frase di Galileo “Eppur si muove!”. Da uomo di scienza e fotografo quale è, Mariani fotografa per mostrare il movimento: coglie sfumature e dettagli che potrebbero sfuggire, arresta immagini fluttuanti. Le sue fotografie sono immedesimazione e viaggio fantastico nel tempo. Dà corpo alla frase di Galileo trascinando lo spettatore all’interno di un quadro di epoca rinascimentale o davanti a un consesso per la decisione di giudici dell’Inquisizione. Scienza, citazioni letterarie e storia si sommano nella fotografia di Mauro Mariani.

Mauro Mariani’s starting point is Galileo’s famous phrase “Eppur si muove [and yet it moves!]”. As a man of science and photographer, Mariani shoots to show movement: he seizes upon nuances and details that might escape, he captures floating images. His photographs are a relating with- and a fantastic journey through- time. They give substance to Galileo’s phrase by dragging the viewer into a Renaissance painting, or in front of a congress of judges from the Inquisition. Science, literary quotations and history are combined in Mauro Mariani’s photography.
