Se ritratti ironici o indagatori del rapporto uomo-cane o gatto, sono un genere frequentato, poco si è detto (e fotografato) dell’uomo in rapporto ai pesci. Il fotografo non parte dal ritrarre semplicemente uomini e pesci, in un rapporto che si trasfigura e muta, ma si lascia ispirare dalla canzone di Lucio Dalla Come è profondo il mare. È curioso scoprire che Dalla è stato ispirato dalla visione del quadro di Arnold Böcklin – della collezione del Kunsthaus di Zurigo– raffigurante la predica di sant’Antonio ai pesci. “L’immagine che ispira una musica che ispira immagini”.
If ironic or investigative portraits of the relationship between man and dogs or cats are a popular genre, little has been said (and photographed) of man in relation to fish. The photographer does not start by simply portraying men and fish, in a relationship that is transfigured and mute, but is inspired by the song of Lucio Dalla How deep is the sea. It is interesting to discover that Dalla was inspired by Arnold Böcklin’s painting – from the collection of the Kunsthaus in Zurich – portraying St. Anthony predicating to fish. “The image that inspires music that inspires images”.
