Esattamente come l’ossimoro del titolo, l’India è una terra di contrasti che creano armonia: è qualcosa di indescrivibile che oscilla tra i cinque sensi e la più pura spiritualità. Gerry Salerno ha compiuto un lungo viaggio tra i colori, i suoni, la spiritualità di questa vasta terra. Venti giorni in cui il fotografo, tra bianchi e neri e fotografie a colori che emanano suoni, racconta contraddizioni, arte, miseria, religione. In una parola, i segni dell’uomo e dell’anima che l’India ha nelle vene della sua terra.

Just like the oxymoron of the title, India is a land of contrasts that generate harmony: it is something indescribable that oscillates between the five senses and the purest spirituality. Gerry Salerno has undertaken a long journey through the colours, the sounds, the spirituality of this vast land. Twenty days during which the photographer depicts contradictions, art, misery, religion, with both black-and-white and colour photographs that emanate sounds. Capturing the traces of man and the soul that India has in the veins of its land.
