Partendo da un viaggio, e in seguito da una storia d’amore con una donna iraniana, Fabrizio Bellafante indaga i contrasti dell’Iran osservando da vicino la figura della donna: il segno più evidente è il velo, ma le regole ferree che una donna iraniana deve osservare sono molteplici e spesso sconosciute nel mondo occidentale. Cercando, attraverso l’arte, di guardare oltre l’accezione interamente negativa che spesso è proposta, l’artista propone un viaggio tra tradizioni persiane, regole coraniche e modernità che si sviluppano con usi e costumi difficilmente comprensibili per l’Occidente ma che con quest’ultimo spesso si confrontano.
Starting from a journey, and then a love story with an Iranian woman, Fabrizio Bellafante investigates Iran’s contrasts by closely observing the female figure: the most evident feature is the veil, but the strict rules that an Iranian woman must observe are many and often unknown in the Western world. Trying, through art, to look beyond the negative interpretation that is often proposed, the artist offers a journey through Persian traditions, Koranic rules and modernity, featuring customs and traditions that are difficult to understand for the West, despite ample opportunities for confrontation.
