Levante è una mappatura della memoria, un tentativo di preservare tracce di epoche lontane dalla furia iconoclasta di movimenti fanatici che stanno ferendo e deturpando quelle terre. Un lavoro che preserva e indaga le immagini considerate per quello che sono: mezzi potenti che hanno la responsabilità di rendere visibile la tragedia della nostra cultura, senza perdere mai il legame con la memoria.

Intimate narration and reportage are the keys to the work of Massimiliano Gatti, developed in the Middle East. Levant is a mapping of memory, an attempt to preserve traces of times far from the iconoclastic fury of fanatical movements that are damaging and disfiguring those lands today. A work that preserves and sees the images for what they are: powerful tools that have the responsibility of making this cultural tragedy visible, preserving the connection with memory.
