Il lavoro di Alessandra Battaggi è un racconto emozionante tra ricordi, tradizioni e vite. Nasce dall’osservazione di quelle coppie che hanno trascorso una vita insieme e che affrontano le difficoltà inclusa, talvolta, la perdita del ricordo di quella vita. Per raccontare quelle memorie Alessandra Battaggi ha ritratto abiti da sposa usati tra gli anni ’50 e i ’70, accostati alle fotografie di matrimonio delle spose che li hanno vestiti. Un viaggio che racconta anche uno spaccato domestico come quello della scelta dell’abito con le donne che insieme cuciono, raccontano, condividono.

The work of Alessandra Battaggi is an exciting tale of memories, traditions and lives. It comes from the observation of those couples who have spent a life together and who face difficulties including, sometimes, the loss of memory of that life. To narrate those memories Alessandra Battaggi has portrayed wedding dresses used between the ’50s and ’70s, combined with wedding photographs of the brides who wore them. A journey that also reveals a domestic cross-section such as that of choosing a dress with the women who sew, talk and share together.
