La serie fotografica di Botticelli è stata scattata durante il ferragosto milanese. Quella che il 15 di agosto si presenta all’occhio dell’osservatore è una città metafisica, qualcosa che non appartiene alla quotidianità di chi è abituato a viverla in altri momenti. Luce accecante, spazi vasti, poca umanità: Max Botticelli ha attraversato la città seguendo una sua mappa mentale, adottando uno sguardo nuovo e soffermandosi sulla stranezza, ma anche la bellezza, di una città chiusa per ferie, spopolata e svuotata dalla presenza umana.

The photographic series by Botticelli was taken during the Milanese mid-August holiday. What presents itself to the eye of the observer on August 15 is a metaphysical city that does not belong to the everyday life of those who are used to living it at other times. Blinding light, vast spaces, little humanity: Max Botticelli crossed the city following his mind map, taking a new look at it and dwelling on the strangeness, but also the beauty, of a city closed for the holidays, depopulated and emptied of human presence.
