Rania Matar è una giovane fotografa nata in Libano ma trasferitasi negli Stati Uniti. Questa nota biografica è presente come filo conduttore nei suoi lavori dedicati principalmente al mutare dell’identità femminile attraverso il ritratto. Identità e intimità di donne appartenenti a fasce di età differenti e parti del mondo così diverse come Stati Uniti e Medio Oriente, trascendono le barriere culturali e geografiche. In mostra sono presenti cinque serie fotografiche: Girl in Her Room, l’Enfant Femme, Becoming, Unspoken Conversation, She.

Rania Matar is a young photographer born in Lebanon and emigrated to the United States. This biographical note is present as a leitmotif in her works, mainly devoted to exploring changes in the female identity through the portrait. Identities and intimacies of women belonging to different age groups and parts of the world, as diverse as the United States and the Middle East, transcend cultural and geographical barriers.
