A raccontare una città non devono essere necessariamente i suoi palazzi, i suoi skyline o le sue persone. A volte raccontarla attraverso le sue texture o un materiale particolare può permetterci di scoprire un nuovo e originale punto di vista. Stefano Porro ha scelto il pavé milanese, che non traccia solo la storia di tutti i giorni, ma ne racconta una che affonda le radici nell’Ottocento. Il fotografo segue la strada di pavé creando una serie di storie, situazioni, contesti che esprimono un linguaggio tutto da interpretare che lo colloca di diritto tra i primi posti nel contesto dell’arredo artistico milanese.

A city does not necessarily have to be described through its buildings, its skylines or its people. Sometimes talking about it through its textures or a particular material can allow us to discover a new and original point of view. Stefano Porro has chosen Milanese pavé [paving stones], which not only acts as a backdrop for everyday experiences, but tells a story that has its roots in the nineteenth century. The photographer follows pavé streets, charting a series of narratives, situations and contexts that create a language to be interpreted, which places him rightly at the forefront of the Milanese artistic landscape.
