Gabriele Tano indaga su Milano con garbo personale che fa sembrare semplici le sue fotografie che sono invece dirette, essenziali, incisive. Le caratterizza la composizione attenta, la scelta del bianconero e la particolarità di una ripresa quasi sempre verticale, dove il senso di profondità, fisico e metaforico, viene accentuato. L’autore osserva da lontano, con rispetto, le persone che attraversano la città, passano sotto i portici, sfiorano il Duomo che un Vittorio Emanuele colto dal basso indica con la punta della spada.

Gabriele Tano investigates Milan with a personal grace that makes his photographs seem simple, whilst they are instead direct, essential, incisive. His images are characterized by careful composition, the choice of the black and white, and the peculiarity of frames that are almost always vertical, where the sense of depth, both physical and metaphorical, is accentuated. The author observes from a distance, with respect, the people who cross the city, pass under its arcades, touch the Cathedral that Vittorio Emanuele, captured from the bottom, points to with the tip of his sword.
