Il reportage di Mirko Torresani ci porta in una regione misteriosa della Romania: Maramures, un’area boscosa e selvaggia al nord della Transilvania, a pochi chilometri dall’Ucraina. Lì il tempo sembra essersi fermato ed è scandito dallo scorrere delle stagioni. Gli scatti in bianco e nero del fotografo ci mostrano in particolare i festeggiamenti della Pasqua ortodossa, profondamente sentita dagli abitanti di queste zone dal momento che la resurrezione coincide con il risveglio della natura. Nel suo reportage si mescolano così immagini di vita quotidiana, di tradizione religiosa e di riti popolari.

Mirko Torresani’s reportage takes us to a mysterious region of Romania: Maramures, a wooded and wild area in the north of Transylvania, a few kilometers from Ukraine. There, time seems to have stopped and is marked by the passing of the seasons. The photographer’s black and white shots show us, in particular, the celebration of Orthodox Easter, which is deeply felt by the inhabitants of these lands since the resurrection coincides with the awakening of nature. His reportage thus mixes images of daily life, religious tradition and traditional folk rituals.
