Mara Pepe looks at reality in its most abstract manifestations, transforming it into something enigmatic. Pepe’s city is what we do not see: signs, lines and spots on walls, shadows of cars and buildings obscuring the cobblestones, edges of pavements, reflections on glass and refractions. Shadows and signs of the everyday take on a mysterious life while maintaining clear, geometric and structured frames. An exhibition in which the boundary between street photography and abstract painting becomes very blurred.
