“The Bound Images” Award for the best photographic book of the year 2021
Contest announcement postponed to 15 July 2021
Photofestival announces the extension of the call for entries for the “Le Immagini Rilegate” competition for the best photographic book of the year 2021, promoted as part of the 16th edition of the event (16 September – 31 October 2021): participants can send their editorial products by 15 July 2021.
Today there are three types of publishing products: the more traditional and classic ones signed by publishing houses, those made on their own by authors who turn to specialised printers, and those known as “artists’ books” because they are printed in a few copies in an artisanal manner and embellished with various elements.
In view of the above, we wish to compare these different realities without making any distinctions, and therefore individual authors and publishing houses can participate with publishing products that were printed in the year 2020 or by 15 July 2021. Participants must send two copies of their products by 6 September to the following address: Photofestival/AIF, corso Venezia 47 20121 Milan, giving notice by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Volumes will not be returned.
The Jury, whose judgement is unquestionable, is composed of: Andrea Kerbaker, bibliophile, university lecturer and owner of Kasa dei Libri in Milan, who will also act as President; Monica Fumagalli Iliprandi, graphic designer and president of the Giancarlo Iliprandi Association; Nino Romeo, photographer and bookseller. The members of the jury have been chosen not only for their undisputed competence but also because together they will be able to judge the publishing products from different and converging points of view.
The Jury will select the best books, which will be displayed in an exhibition at the Kasa dei Libri during Photofestival 2021, and will choose the best one, which will be awarded a plaque.
