Photography is storytelling and storytelling is therapy. When we are unable to construct a positive narrative about ourselves, we look at the stories of others. That’s what the author of these images did when, at a difficult time in his life, armed with a camera and with his dog by his side, he ventured out into the city streets to watch the lives of others flow by, waiting for a chance to realign himself with them. The resulting photographic series is now on display and is shared with those who have experienced other kinds of suspension, such as the one that 2020 forced upon us. Melancholia, beauty, colour, discovery, rebirth. To look, even from a suspended time, means to narrate oneself.
