Massimo Baldini conducts research by shifting two different sensory planes. If white noise is that particular type of sound in which all the frequencies audible to the human ear have the same intensity, like a monotonous rustle, the photographer transforms white noise from audible to visible. He does this by levelling out the colour differences of the objects portrayed in order to visually recreate this noise and evoke the same effects of relaxation and invitation to concentration. The result is an exhibition of ten pairs of diptychs that blend different eras and registers, reality and concept, form and appearance.
