Au Bonheur des Dames racconta la storia di sei sorelle, di età tra i sette e i diciotto anni, di origini russe, francesi e algerine. Marie, Nathalie, Catherine, Yasmin, Amel e Sarah vivono con la madre a Beuvrages, un villaggio nel nord della Francia: luogo grigio, spento, senza suoni o colori. Eppure, come in un romanzo di altri tempi, la loro casa brilla, è piena di quadri, di voci. Insieme si prendono cura l’una dell’altra, e della casa che nel tempo hanno costruito loro stesse. Crescono insieme, ridono, piangono e costruiscono un futuro. Il progetto è inserito all’interno della rassegna Venti Rosa – nuovi sguardi femminili sul contemporaneo.
Au Bonheur des Dames tells the story of six sisters, aged between seven and eighteen, of Russian, French and Algerian origins. Marie, Nathalie, Catherine, Yasmin, Amel and Sarah live with their mother in Beuvrages, a village in the north of France: a grey, dull place without music or colour. And yet, as in a novel from another time, their house shines, it is full of paintings, voices. Together they take care of each other, and of the house they have built for themselves over time. They grow up together, laugh, cry and create a future. The project is part of the exhibition Venti Rosa – new feminine perspectives on the contemporary.
