Not Only Smartphones è un reportage fotografico che si mescola all’indagine sociologica e antropologica: in mostra ci sono infatti scatti che ritraggono principalmente mani femminili che sorreggono uno smartphone nell’atto di fotografare. A ben guardare, il vero soggetto non è solo la figura che si mostra a se stessa (e agli altri), ma l’esperienza estetica in sé, quel momento in cui qualcosa ci attrae producendo emozioni e stati d’animo molteplici. In questo caso l’esperienza estetica dei soggetti sono i soggetti stessi. Perché dietro uno smartphone non c’è solo uno smartphone, come dimostrano le 40 miliardi di fotografie  scattate ogni giorno con il cellulare sull’intero pianeta.

Not Only Smartphones is a photographic reportage that mixes sociological and anthropological investigation: on display there are shots that primarily depict female hands holding a smartphone in the act of photographing. On closer inspection, the real subject is not only the figure that is shown to itself (and to others), but the aesthetic experience itself, that moment when something attracts us producing multiple emotions and moods. In this case, the aesthetic experience of the subjects are the subjects themselves. Because behind a smartphone there is not only a smartphone, as demonstrated by the 40 billion photographs taken every day with a mobile phone on the entire planet.
