In questo progetto fotografico la fotografia è uno strumento di indagine personale e psicologica: percorso di accettazione e di ricerca di un senso di appartenenza a un luogo. Attraverso l’atto del fotografare, del guardare attraverso un occhio non umano, ma non meno vivo, Irene Guastella torna in luoghi che le sono famigliari: la casa del nonno, in Sicilia, è l’occasione per riscoprire e accettare ciò che di se stessa ha sempre rifiutato, ovvero la connessione e quindi il legame inscindibile con una storia. E con se stessa. Il progetto è inserito all’interno della rassegna Venti Rosa – nuovi sguardi femminili sul contemporaneo.
In this photographic project, photography is an instrument of personal and psychological investigation: a path to acceptance and the search for a sense of belonging to a place. Through the act of photographing, of looking through a non-human eye, which is, however, no less alive, Irene Guastella returns to places that are familiar to her: her grandfather’s house, in Sicily, provides an opportunity to rediscover and accept what she has always refused about herself, namely the connection and therefore the inseparable bond with a story. And with herself. The project is part of the exhibition Venti Rosa – new feminine perspectives on the contemporary.
